Creating Accessible Videos
Creating Accessible Videos
Videos and audio content should be created with accessibility in mind so that everyone can access the information.
Automatically generated captions, such as those provided by YouTube, can be a helpful starting point, but they should always be reviewed and corrected for accuracy before the video is published.
A transcript can also provide a useful text version of audio or video content. For audio-only content, such as a podcast or recorded message, provide an accurate transcript.
Videos may also contain important visual information that cannot be understood from the audio alone. Important on-screen text, charts, demonstrations, or other meaningful visuals should be described in the audio or provided through another accessible method.
Video Conferencing
Video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet include accessibility features that can help make virtual meetings and events more accessible.
When hosting a virtual meeting or event, become familiar with the accessibility features available on the platform and enable them when appropriate.
